Harriman State Park – Golden Lake Dike
Golden Pond dike road was constructed during the private ownership of the area by Island Park Land and Cattle Co. beginning in the late 1800’s. The land was deeded to the State of Idaho in 1977 and was opened to the public in 1982 as Harriman State Park. In early 2016, the culvert used to control the flow of water from Golden Pond washed out resulting in a localized washing out of the dike road. A&E Engineering, Inc. was retained to assist with the repair of the dike road. A plan was developed to temporarily repair the dike early this spring and then install a more permanent repair in the fall of 2016.
A&E was tasked with assisting Idaho State Parks & Recreation (ISP&R) in estimating existing storage capacity of Golden Pond at full capacity, provide drawings and specifications issued for construction of the dike road showing ISP&R directed changes to increase or not increase storage capacity, detail design of the culvert and weir, provide technical support during construction and provide a construction completion report detailing activities and quality control testing.

Portneuf Wellness Complex
The Portneuf Wellness Complex, located in Pocatello, Idaho is composed of 11 multi-use sports fields and one championship field, a sand volleyball court, children’s playground, basketball courts and a mountain bike park. It boasts a state of the art amphitheater to seat almost 11,000 people. A 38 foot tall dam was designed and permitted by Idaho Department of Water Resources to detain a 6.5 acre reservoir. The reservoir, which will provide swimming and fishing, also has a continuous water feature to create a stream that can be seen from the 58 foot pedestrian bridge. A&E Engineering, Inc. completed all the civil site design for the Portneuf Wellness Complex as well as being the engineering firm of record for the dam design. Civil Site design included a hydrologic study, design of storm water, potable water and sanitary water systems, and overall grading of the site.
